CELLER PERSON

Suncreek is looking for a part-time EXPERIENCED Celler Person for approximately 25-30 per week which may lead into a full-time position. A Cellar Person is responsible for all aspects of the brewing process such as fermentation, conditioning, treatment, clarification, carbonation, and any other processes required to achieve a final product ready to serve. You MUST be a hard working, responsible, and self-motivated individual with a passion for craft beer and a desire to continue learning and growing within the industry. The candidate should also be sociable with a good sense of humor, full of integrity and be comfortable representing the brewery in public and at events.

CELLAR PERSON JOB DESCRIPTION

Clean, sanitize, and purge tanks according to S.O.P.’s (brites, fermenters, and brinks)
Yeast drops and storage management
Carbonation monitoring
Strict adherence to C.I.P. procedures
Effectively communicate mechanical and process issues with Brewer and other cellaring staff
Basic beer movements – empty and fill tanks, transfer beer
Ensures work area is clean and well organized
Ensures tank exteriors are cleaned regularly
Monitors and records results of fermentation and cellaring of beer
Ensures that product and process is free from microbial contamination
Ensures equipment is maintained and kept in good working order
Filters and carbonated beer as required
Ensure appropriate samples are taken for quality assurance
Maintain inventory as needed
Preparing packaged beer for sales orders
Assist others when necessary, including but not limited to brewing, canning, grain milling, dry hopping, draft line maintenance, keg cleaning, and QA

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Document processes and procedures to create and improve S.O.P.’s
Complete special projects assigned by leadership
Participate in general cleaning of break room, bathrooms, and offices
Math skills necessary to accurately complete dilution calculations, volume, flow, density, weight, length, pressure, and other unit conversions
Calculate beer volumes/losses and alcohol content

QUALIFICATIONS

General beer cellar experience required, ESPECIALLY CIP
General brewing experience & ingredient knowledge is a plus
Experience with packaging (kegging and canning)
Good communication skills
Strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency
Flexible hours, weekend and night shift availability
Precision in daily tasks
Ability to frequently reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift/move up to 165lbs 
Ability to be frequently exposed to wet conditions
Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors, occasionally be exposed to dangerous chemicals, and hot/cold water
Ability to work around moving mechanical parts
Must be able to stand for entire shift, up to ten hours
Climb stairs several times a day
